EA Diagrams Tips & Tricks 2

All models in Sparx System Enterprise Architect (aka EA) are created within diagrams. The Diagram is the canvas on which you paint your models. The User interface for EA diagrams are not the most intuitive and i’ve spent many a hour trying to figure out some of the basics that one would imagine to be quite easy to do, but then actually isn’t. So with this post i’m going to share some of the tips and tricks on dealing with Diagrams in EA , so that you could potentially avoid wasting those precious hours. This is the second post in the Diagram Tips and Tricks Series.

Favourite Diagrams

You will create many models in EA, and then you’ll realize hold on I’ve got way to may diagrams i’m struggling to find my favorites i’m working on. Or you might have a collection of Diagrams that you’d like to save as favorites and you can just open EA and it defaults on those Diagrams and you can take off right where you ended last time. In this video we look at saving favourite diagrams

Diagram Legends

Legends are extremely useful for diagrams with multiple elements and you’d like to add another dimension in terms of coloring of elements and adding a little useful legend to your diagram. This video is all about adding a legend to your diagrams.

Quick Zoom

Diagrams get quite busy and you might need to zoom in a little bit to see some elements up close and personal. So this short little video explains how you can do a little quick zoom.

Copy Diagram to Clipboard

Exporting a diagram from EA is quite easy you dont have to follow and elaborate steps you can simply use the good old fashion copy and paste functionality all your windows applications got us used to. In this video i demo how you can copy your diagrams into any other application (like word etc.).
