Power Query Running Totals

Creating Running totals in power query is quite tricky – currently there are no out of the box click interface or formulas that’ll enable you to easily create running totals. I made 2 Videos to illustrate how you can do a running total and a Month to Date Running total in Power Query.

Month To Date (MTD) Running Total Pattern

Expanding on the Basic Running total Pattern in this video i show how you can build the m-query to give you a Month to Date Running Total.

I would rather perform running totals in DAX as there are much more advanced functions to specifically deal with Running Totals. But do settle for these solutions when you have no other option that to use power query. BASensei Out!
